What's Happening?

Our Crew does so much more than drive an ambulance in Delta County.  Here are just some of the other things we are doing...

Wildland Fire Deployments

Delta County Ambulance District (DCAD) extends its unwavering dedication beyond local boundaries. Our mission encompasses not only serving our immediate community but also offering critical medical support to wildland firefighters operating across multiple states. As a vital component of wildfire response efforts, we are proud to stand on the front lines, providing essential resources and skilled personnel to safeguard the well-being of those courageous individuals tirelessly battling the flames.

Our devoted team is equipped to respond with both ambulances and single resource medics, ensuring that the brave men and women who confront the challenges of wildfires receive the highest standard of care and support.

DCAD High School Internship Program

Delta County Ambulance District (DCAD) takes immense pride in fostering the growth of aspiring medical professionals by extending a warm invitation to and hosting students from Delta High School through our Internship Program. In close collaboration with the Delta County School District, we offer these students an immersive and insightful journey into the world of Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

Throughout their internship, students engage in a comprehensive learning experience and, upon completion, receive well-earned certificates for EMR (Emergency Medical Responder). They are assigned to specific shifts where they commit a minimum of 8 hours each week. During their time with us, they actively respond to emergency calls, take part in public relations events, and undergo valuable training alongside our dedicated crews.

This program spans a semester, thus affording us the opportunity to welcome multiple students each year. To ensure a seamless affiliation with DCAD, our student interns are provided with DCAD T-shirts and ID badges, signifying their involvement while on scene. Additionally, students participate in both entry and exit interviews, as well as meetings with their parents, ensuring a transparent understanding of what to expect from DCAD and the care we provide during any type of call.

Our experience in working with these ambitious students who share a passion for medicine is profoundly gratifying. We provide them with a unique perspective within the medical field, and it's heartening to note that numerous students who have completed this program have gone on to attain their EMT certifications, forging a path towards a rewarding and impactful career in healthcare.

Public Events

At Delta County Ambulance District, we are dedicated to engaging with our community through a variety of public relations events. Whether it's health fairs, school visits, or community festivals, our team is committed to promoting safety, wellness, and emergency preparedness.
