What's Happening?
Our Crew does so much more than drive an ambulance in Delta County. Here are just some of the areas we've been deployed to provide assistance...
COVID-19 RESPONSE TEAM
Del Rio, Texas
August 18, 2020, Del Rio Station (DRS) Patrol Agent in Charge (PAIC) Ricardo Moreno provided a station overview and border tour for six FEMA volunteers. The volunteers were all from the state of Colorado and were dispatched down to Del Rio, Texas as part of a COVID response team to assist and help medical responders in the area. The medical responders were provided an overview of DRS Operations, a brief tour of the station and programs (horse patrol, and a tour of the border fence and river area, in order to share the Border Patrol story and the mission of Agents daily in the border security strategy.
September 22, 2020, our crews have been released and are on their way home from Texas.
They have spent the last 2 months helping out in Del Rio, a town where COVID had hit especially hard, and took a toll on their resources. Our crews worked with other crews from other states that were also sent down to assist the local EMS community by AMR and FEMA.
A big thank you to each and every crew member that was able to make the trip and work there. And thank you to each and every crew member that helped to make sure our schedule was covered and full here as well. It was a successful team effort from a great group at DCAD.
